Experience, Compassion and Accessibility
Dr. H. Nicholas Shamma
Dr. H. Nicholas Shamma founded American Dermatopathology Laboratory in 2014 to offer dermatopathology services that focuses on each patient’s skin biopsy with the same compassion and care attending physicians provide their patient. Wanting to extend the physician’s personal touch to the skin biopsies in the lab, Dr. Shamma offers a unique environment where he partners directly with the physicians to ensure the best patient care and outcomes. This is accomplished through consultation and discussion with the physician as needed and ultimately, the best diagnosis for the patient. Dr. Shamma currently serves as a Clinical Professor in the Department of Dermatology at Wright State University. He has been in private practice since 1996 and throughout his career has managed laboratories and served as associate laboratory director. Dr. Shamma completed his residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York including one year as chief resident. He is board certified in Dermatopathology and Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. Dr. Shamma conducted his dermatopathology fellowship training with Dr. Bernie Ackerman at Jefferson Medical College in Pennsylvania. Dr. Shamma holds medical licenses in multiple states and is the author of numerous articles in peer reviewed journals.
